We want to welcome our incoming Emergency Medicine Resident Class of 2017!  After attending the University of Kentucky’s GME orientation week and the EM Resident Retreat, our interns began their Emergency Medicine Orientation Monday, June 23rd.

The week began with a welcome/residency overview session with Dr. Doty, program director.  EM Orientation activities have included a PALS course, ACLS Instructor course with Dr. Young, Sim Lab with Dr. Martin, an ATLS course, electronic medical records training, residency and ED policies and procedures with Corporate Compliance and EM program staff, and an ultrasound orientation workshop with Dr. Dawson.

Orientation ends on Monday, June 30, 2014, with Dragon training – then their residency training begins July 1st!  We are pleased our interns matched with us and wish them all a productive academic year!
